Marie Calvo Benito
Member-at-Large
Marie Calvo Benito is an elementary school teacher
by profession and has recently obtained her Master's degree in TESOL
(Teaching English to Students of Other Languages) from the University
of Guam. She has worked at Tamuning Elementary School for the last
15 years.
She is married to Michael T. Benito and has 4 children,
Aubrey-21, Alyssa-19, Brianna-14, and Michael Jake-9 years old.
She is a board member of the Payless Community Foundation and the
Bookmobile Foundation. She is also a member of the International
Reading Association, TESOL, the Guam Running Club, and the Guam
Track and Field Association. She lends her support in helping numerous
organizations raise funds including the Archdiocese of Agana, Division
of Pastoral Ministries, Kamelen Karidat, and Ina'fa Maolek. She
is currently assisting in the Archdiocese effort to send over 300
local youth to the World Youth Day 2008 in Australia. Her hobbies
include running, swimming, hiking, and cheering for her children
in their many sports endeavors.
