Robert Hofmann

Democrat Vice Mayor Robert D.C. Hofmann has lived in the village of Sinajana all of his life. Robert has attained a tremendous amount of practical and meaningful government experience despite his youth. Robert, is 31 years old and has one daughter Hailey with his fiance’ Jenee Taitano.

From 1995 to 2003 Robert served as a member of the staff of the Office of the Governor. He was assigned to the Community Outreach Office, working to assist individuals in need, and coordinating government projects and events. Concurrently he was a project coordinator for the First Lady’s Office, managing and organizing numerous programs and events that promoted a lifestyle free from drug, alcohol and tobacco use. He served on the First Lady’s Committee on Prevention and Education, as well as the Family Violence Task Force, and member of the non-profit organization, "People Helping People".

Prior to his employment at the Governor’s Office he was a two-term member of the Guam Youth Congress, in which he served as Vice-Speaker, and Ways and Means Chairman. Robert has also served on numerous government and civilian boards and councils, including the Sinajana Municipal Planning Council from 1997-2000 and as an advisor and member of numerous youth clubs and organizations in Sinajana from 1995-2000. From 2002-2004 he worked as the Office Manager and Legislative Assistant for Senator Rory J. Respicio, Chairman of the Committee on Youth & Senior Citizens, Federal & Foreign Affairs, Military & Veteran’s Affairs and Human Resources & Natural Resources in the 27th Guam Legislature.

His desire to make a difference led him to seek public office in 2004 which he won successfully. He is currently serving his first term of office. In the past three years, he has made tremendous changes the community making Sinajana a safe place to live work and play. He has eliminated the large debt left by his predecessors, streamlined operations, successfully renovated and repaired the multi-purpose court, baseball field, community center and other facilities which have been in disrepair for over 20 years. His willingness to give of himself and to others is evident in the host of programs that are available to the public.

As Vice Mayor he was tasked to serve as a Board of Director in the Guam Visitor’s Bureau which he proudly served as the Chairman of Community Development, and is the present Chairman of the Membership and Community Relations Committee. He also serves as a Board of Director on the University of Guam’s Regent Nominating Council, the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee, The Tourism Education Council and is the President of Guma Mami.

Over the past 15 years he has assisted, volunteered and worked with dozens of non-profit organizations and charities such as the Archdiocese of Agana, Guam Memorial Hospital Volunteers Association, the American Red Cross, the Salvation Army, the American Cancer Society, GARRP/SPIMA, Linala Sin Casino, the Tourism Education Council, Guma Mami and numerous public and private organizations.

Robert is also very involved in the parish community of St. Jude’s where he serves as a Parish Council Member, a Youth Minister, a Choir/Band Director, a Liturgical Committee Member, 10th Grade Religion Teacher and a Knight of Columbus. He was also an Altar Server, Lector, Eucharistic Minister, and Confirmation Teacher over the past 15 years. His memberships and employment have helped him gain valuable experience all areas to include both the Legislative and Executive Branches of the Government of Guam.

Robert has received numerous awards, recognitions, accolades and certificates for his contributions to our island’s youth, manamko, the religious community and the community-at-large.

Robert D.C. Hofmann is hardworking, honest and fair. His years of experience in working with various Government of Guam agencies, combined with his youthful energy, unwavering determination and strong leadership skills, are the qualities that we need in our public servants.
